I have 7 beautiful BBS orp babies that hatched Tuesday from Cyn .I have what I think is two blacks, two darker blues and three almost lavender looking chicks.I was wanting the delawares which I also ended up with seven of also but the orps were just icing on the cake.I think I killed one trying to play hereo and helping it out of the shell or it would have been eight..I will get pictures very soon so you will know what to look forward too.Beware those frisky Delewares will be ready to pop out at day 19 or 20.Thanks Cythia!!

So happy you did well with those, James. I bet the almost lavender looking ones are bluish splashes. I had a beautiful splash pullet from the last batch I hatched look like lavender. She's a gorgeous splash girl, just went home with crazyhen today.

I decided that lockdown will start Sat midnight because the last hatch we had the babies started to pip on day 19 as well. I would not be suprised to see those frisky Dels doing the same thing they are so cool when I candle them to see them kicking and squirming it is as if they are as eager to come out as I am to see them.
JamesA definately post some pics I would love to see what you had hatch, we watched with Cetawin's hatch and the beauties that she got.
I will tell Kathy to look for your message later Cyn, Thanx

I thought my girl was just the lightest blue I'd ever seen, but then, folks told me that she was a splash. And sure enough, her legs are white, so definitely not blue. Then her splashy feathers started showing up. She truly is a shade of lavender (though not a true lavender, genetically, of course). I've never had a splash lke that till now, so I bet yours are that lavendery-splash color, James.

LOL... you won't. If you do what I did, you will sleep via power naps! I think from Friday at lockdown till Monday night, I slept maybe 8 hours total. I did a major crash sleep on Wednesday after everyone was hatched, the bator was cleaned and everyone was eating and drinking.

OK I said I would get pictures but thet are not the best. They were actually taken from a cell phone witha camera. The color does not show up very good at all. Here we go.

First the orps
