Thanks for the encouragement Pet Duck Boy. I just went to the store and when I looked in she was standing there panting and holding her wings out, but it isn't that hot right now. And she's actually the one that is usually the least bothered by the heat. Then when I got near her she didn't run off like she usually does, and squatted down.....hmmm.....

My girl layed right in the nest box next to they wooden egg we have in it. Got the wooden egg at a craft store, it was much cheaper then golf balls. Good luck!!

Congrats!

Don't worry about it not being in the nesting box. New layers get "surprised" from the egg. Lot's of my birds have started laying in weird places: Under the coop, under the feeder, under the roost, etc. But they soon realize where they are supposed to go. All of my layers lay in the nesting boxes now.
