1st Hatching Journey - Little Giant

I just love the colors of the tuxedos. I'm worried that will make it harder to cull.

My 12 year old is finding the culling process the hard part, understands but wants to keep everything, even when I tell him he’d have to pay for our quail bachelor/retirement community! But then he’s happy to eat the silly things an hour after weeping about their impending demise, kids! Have fun with the hatch, sounds like a lot of fun. Someone gave me a little giant incubator that she never had any luck with, checked the temp and it ran 107F! Definitely a good idea to have a backup thermometer!

I'm getting a bit concerned. Experts like Zach from Myshire and Chris from Slightly Redneck recommend the Little Giant. But so many people in the comments of videos reviewing that incubator are hating on it so much.

It's expected to arrive between Aug. 27 - Sept. 4.

I'm getting a bit concerned. Experts like Zach from Myshire and Chris from Slightly Redneck recommend the Little Giant. But so many people in the comments of videos reviewing that incubator are hating on it so much.

Little Giants are known to have many faults! People like Zack and Slightly Redneck, work hard at making adjustments, modifications to the LG's inordered to get them to work half way decent.
As a noob, I would not choose the LG, that having been said, if your willing to spend a lot of time 'tinkering' with it it can be an OK incubator. There are many sites on the web and YouTube that you can watch and learn how to make the necessary modifications.

PS ETA I had LG's to begin with, I lost alot of eggs at first until I got all the kinks worked out! Kinda ironic, was the fact that I had a Browder before the LG's and had better results with it than the LG's.

Thanks, I do like to tinker and have plenty of time to do so as I don't work. I will try to make sure I get all its kinks worked out before I put in eggs in it.

I'm wondering if I should order a small batch of quail from etsy to test with before getting a large order from Myshire. But then I don't want to end up with too many birds.

Yes I have one and have had many perfect hatches with it.
I pay close attention to everything at all times which is why I have great results.
Any incubator can work if you know what the temp and humidity are at all times and can adjust them accordingly.
