My 2yo barred rock Pepper appears to be losing her voice as of yesterday. She normally is quite vocal and has a clear cluck/scream but today she is quieter and her sounds seem more garbled and strained.
Her comb is nice and red, she is running and flapping and digging with all her normal vigor, and she appears to be eating and drinking normally. The only abnormality I’ve noticed other than her voice is that she has some pin feathers on her chest, which has made it hard to feel her crop. Her crop appears slightly softer than normal but not as squishy as I could expect with sour crop.
Her poops are a mix of solid and diarrhea but are normal colors.
Not sure if it would affect her voice but we did lose her sister (the leader of the flock) in January to cancer and the flock still doesn’t have a clear pecking order.
Any advice is appreciated, thank you!!
