It is too early for the air cell to begin slanting in your eggs.

ETA - You will see the slant by day 22.  Maybe a little earlier depending on your humidity.

Today is day 24 for now my lone egg due 7/4.. I candled today and it now has a Very slanted air cell. Humidity has been at about 47-51%. I went ahead put it in lockdown!!

I started with 9 shipped and 3 from mine. Only 1 of the shipped has now made it to lockdown. Only 4 out of the 12 even developed. 1 mine. It just died late within the past week..along with 1 of the shipped. I really hope this last egg hatches!

Set weight was 102g, day 19 it was @ 89g which was at about 13%. Now it's weight on day 24 was 84g...

If my math is right that's 17.65%!

Well that's using the formula for % Mass loss.

Set weight-Original weight/Original weight (x) 100

Well I ruined my 100 % hatch rate.

All my shipped eggs were apparently ruined by post office. Kskingbee'S one never developed and one was a quitter.
Then two of mine were due day before yesterday. One not fertile and another quitter. Two more due tomorrow night of mine, we will see how it goes. I must say mine usually hatch through anything but I gave to a neighbor to incubate as I had shipped eggs more important and we forgot to raise humidity. But looked like it quit soon as I gave to her to incubate. That's probably a factor. The 2 due tomorrow were also in her bator but now under a broody.

I have some more under broodys but it's youvhing 100 today so my birds are standing up off the eggs and just miserable. :)

What day should peafowl eggs be locked down on? I'm finding conflicting information so I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Day 25 is standard but I just locked mine down on day 24 because after candling it just looked like it was going to be sooner. Sure enough I just candled day 25 and its internally pipped.

So do you open the incubator during lockdown and pull the egg out real quick to candle? (I'm on day 21 and just trying to prepare) :)
