Those who feel Trump is terrifying must not know much about the Clintons. I suggest you do your homework and stop listening to the hollywood elites, 1% billionairs and media. Sure, Trump says stupid things...he has never killed anyone to my knowledge or put the entire nations security at risk. If you dont think Clinton is guilty on those counts you simply are not paying attention. We get the government deserve.

I agree. That is why I support him. I am voting for him to vote against Hilary. It is just that the GOP could have picked a better candidate.

Democracy really doesn't matter...we're a Constitutional Republic...not a Democracy or Socialistic Democracy. :p

yes, thanks for clarifying--technically you are correct. however--perhaps since "democracies" in the strict sense of the word are rather rare these days among global nation-states-- ive found that "democracy" and "republic" are often used interchangeably now. so i didnt bother splitting hairs about it when making my point. anyway, that point was that, whatever you want to call them, most modern "republics" in what people sometimes hamfistedly call "the free world" incorporated elements of socialist structure into their workings since their inception. ours was a little bit the product of an earlier time and unique circumstances, which may be one reason american government has some weird features--like the electoral college, a "president" with regal-like powers, and a few relatively "oddball" constitutional relics). its funny--some like to think we are some kind of paragon of democracy for the rest of the world, but in many ways a lot of our republics features are rather quaint and quirky by world standards...
:)

that, and that having universal healthcare (or a postal service and roads) doesnt put us on the path to a communist USSR (which was actually a totalitarian oligarchy with elements even of plutocracy, not communism, in reality). only in America, for the most part, is socialism a four letter word...

anyway, my pres vote probably wont count either way... hawaii is a solid blue state where winner takes all that hasnt gone to a gop candidate since statehood. (btw sanders won 70% in the HI democratic caucus!)

I totally get why people like socialism. It makes everything "fair" so everyone can enjoy life--so there's no people drowning in money or homeless people who have nothing. It balances and fixes people's financial problems. The only major flaw in socialism, is it discourages hard-working people. Here's why: say there's a 30 year old guy who is free-loading off his parents and plays video games all day. He's never held a job, and he never plans to. Since he is now in the "low" class, he gets lots of tax money--and "makes" $50,000 a year. Then, there's the guy who went to 8 years of college to become a neurosurgeon. He works 18 hour shifts somedays, and his job is endless and stressful. He would be in the upper class for all his hard work. However, with taxes, he makes $50,000. Which would discourage his hard work, so he quits his job and makes the same amount of money. And suddenly, what would be the upper class disappears and everyone is poor.
I get why people like, but I think people who have more money should give willing to people struggling financially, instead of the government forcing them to give it to people who may or may not need it.
That's my view, it's my opinion, and I still highly respect yours

, but I'm not arguing or anything--just putting in my "two cents."

I couldn't have said it better myself

Also, I see a lot of people in this thread talking about how both Hillary and Trump are evil. How Trump would be a scary president. I don't see that at all. I truely believe Trump is what our country needs. I hear all kind of low information people saying he's a racist and sexist. They talk about 'what he's said about women is horrific'. There's nothing he's said that's horrific at all. If you read the actual transcripts of his conversations and not just headliners youll see exactly what was said and why it was said. It's all about context. If anything is 'scary' it's the amount of people who just repeat what they've heard someone else say or what the headline they saw said and make their judgements on that. Even scarier are Hillary comments on black people, comments about women, her disregard for human life (not just on an abortion level). I love Trump. I love America. I am not sorry for it.

The only reason I try to stay away from Trump is because of his inconsistency. Several years ago he was praising Megan Kelly. Then he said he never liked her. He said he was good friends with Hilary, and then, well, this. This is not the end of the list. I am voting for him just because I can see Hilary ruining America. Trump will make America better, but not great. He still never said anything on the issue of the Life of the Unborn.

Trump is going my to leave that descion up to the states. That's all he's said about it and that's in line with my thoughts as well. As far as being inconsistent, Hillary has been very inconsistent (que TPP, keystone) pipeline, Wallstreet, etc).

I know that Hilary and the DNC has been inconsistent, far worse than Trump. To think that the whole time the election was "rigged" against Bernie.

I believe socialism takes WAY too much money, freedom, and decision-making power away from the people and places it squarely in the hands of a big, bloated, centralized government that may or may not make wise, ethical use of our hard-earned tax dollars and may or may not make decisions with our freedom and best interest at heart. Given the tendency for those in power to spiral downward toward corruption, socialism makes me VERY uncomfortable.
