2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

[I'm sure they get chased alot more than we know especially by kids. And then they wonder why their so mean.  Of course this is off topic.]  And we really don't chase our ganders and they are mean.. UGH Hormones!! Well not until yesterday anyway lol

I have an 8 year old who chases them (and is always in trouble) and the 9 year old gets chased and is always screaming like a girl. kids!

Leonardo got grabbed and pinned again yesterday...the nasty brat snuck up when I was collecting my one egg and he's lucky I didn't break it. I held him down longer than usual then chased him a bit longer just for laughs. Will he ever learn?
I noticed when I was candling last night the embryo looked like it was floating, the others are still connected to side (minus the 2 that weren't fertilized and taken out). Is this normal or did it die? I can't seem to find a video or anything on floating or detached embryos and this is first time. It is day 11 now.

Good for you!! Nope they never learn my Gander who will be 10 yrs old on the 27th was hatched here and he still hasn't learned. You gotta love them or else.

Have you read through this? I've never tried incubating eggs so can't help
Maybe @Pyxis can help.

Does the egg smell bad? I had an embryo that was floating and then the egg started to smell, which means it had died. How does the air cell look?

Everything looks good and no smell but the others are not moving freely like this one, it moves around almost like the yolk in unfertilized egg but not as much. I'm not finding anything about it but I'm thinking it might have died, I am going to wait a bit to make sure. Will I get an odor before it explodes? I don't want to risk bacteria getting on the other eggs.

I couldn't resist joining the hatchalong, so I set a few dewlap eggs yesterday. Hatch date set for May 9th.

I'm not sure because I'm new to hatching goslings. My floaty egg got really stinky, so I put it in the composter.

I have 5 Pilgrim eggs due to hatch Wednesday. We are on pins and needles here with anticipation and of course I'm a ball of worry...what if the incubator is too dry? Or too humid? What if they get stuck in a too-dry membrane? Argh, the anticipation is killing me!

I went ahead and removed it and another that looked pretty red, I'm thinking I have another bad one but I'll give it a little more time to make sure. Maybe I should have started with chickens instead of geese. Is there a way to get geese to sit on their eggs? These girls do not sit but a little over 2 hours and only when laying an egg. Laverne had me exited one day by running to sit off and on but it was just for that one day.
