2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

I went ahead and removed it and another that looked pretty red, I'm thinking I have another bad one but I'll give it a little more time to make sure. Maybe I should have started with chickens instead of geese. Is there a way to get geese to sit on their eggs? These girls do not sit but a little over 2 hours and only when laying an egg. Laverne had me exited one day by running to sit off and on but it was just for that one day.

Do you give the a chance to build a clutch? They like to have anywhere from 7-9 eggs before they get in broody mode.

I had about 20 eggs at one time and then my mother's dog discovered them so I started bringing in the new ones and eventually all the old ones were eaten. Right now Lucy has 5 hidden, I found them yesterday over by the shop next to a wood pile. The only reason I found them was one wasn't completely covered and I thought it was a piece of trash.

She maybe trying to hide them from the dog if she knows he has been getting them, But please don't let her brood outside in the open it will be a feast for preds.

My dogs take care of those nasty little creatures, including the coyote, they protect their territory! The geese roam free and have since September without any problems. However they do not guard mom's property so much and something got all but one of my chickens in December so I no longer use the big coop and won't again! I am working on one right out back in between all the trees since the small one is a little cramped at night but they run all over the place during the day, even the little ducklings and goslings can run around but they stay right next to the house where they have their food, water and little pool. Every once in awhile they run under the tree to snooze. I'm going to have to block off the porch, I'm tired of spraying it down 5 times a day!
