Our three and a half week old flock got to spend a little time outside today. It's only in the low 40s here at the warmest, but they're getting good feather coverage and enjoyed being able to stretch their legs.

Update on my chicks: My six older girls that are in the coop don’t like venturing into their run yet. They like the safety of the coop much more. They also find hours of enjoyment in pulling the straw out of their nesting boxes.
My five week old babies are starting to develop more character as the days progress. Unfortunately one of my Black Ameraucana has developed a reddening comb. It’s also almost a third heaver than my other birds. He went from being named Myrtle to Walnut. We call him Wally for short. I’m thankful I can have Roosters where I live, & very thankful that out of every breed we got, the one cockerel we turned out having is a rare pure breed.

Introducing my 3-4 week old chicks to new food is hysterical! Grapes, cabbage, dead crickets and meal worms (ugh), and live orange ladybug beetles things (thanks to my 8yr old) have all been a hit.

I got my 4 Australorp babies from @BlueBaby today! They’re gorgeous! Sooo excited even my husband can’t resist

I got the coop and the chicks the same day. I treated the coop and put it together, now I'm making the covered run and I got to get that done sooner then later.

My coop and my German Shepherd that knows something will be in there but doesn't have a clue what yet...lol
