2019 Emu Hatch-A-Long

Pics
They are all doing the wiggle and I couldn't get weights on them anymore because they roll off the scale.
Put a bottle/jar cap on the scale first and tare it, then put egg on cap.
That's what I do with chicken eggs, you'd need a honking big cap for an emu egg, but you get the idea.

I wish I knew how to post a video or a picture on here.

you people and your wiggling eggs, I hate you all !!

seriously, day 48 and no wiggle. maybe i have baptist emus, that would explain why they won't dance.
also caught a whiff of something, maybe a rotten egg. which is good ...right. i read that infertile eggs don't get stinky, so that may mean i have fertile eggs, which gives me hope for the other 10 eggs in incubator number 2. trying so hard to be positive.

In case you guys only read emu posts, i did end up with 2 keets and a random bantam outta of those sketchy eggs i bought. the guinea hen chicks are pretty cute.

I hope they hatch!

Well, tonight I'm sure egg #1 smells fowl. Not over powering but definitely rotten smelling. The other 5 smell fine, that is to say no smell at all. Advice? I mean this just started like a day or so. I'm on day 48. Any reason not to pull this egg? Don't want it to affect other eggs, but maybe it's just a chick with B.O. I know I'm grasping at straws. So seriously what is the course of action with a bad smelling egg.
Still no wiggles....
As I never want to do this 50 day blind hatch again, I was searching the internet. There seems to be some results with using Infrared light and it cameras to candle emu eggs. The internet is so messed up these days. I mean when you search for emu info ,BYC comes up first. As fun as this site is, shouldn't some Australian site come up? I mean they have to know more. Turns out they might. Anyhow still looking into that and will share if I find something.

I am weird I always open them to see what happened. Then I put them in my compost.
I put the egg in a large plastic bag the broke it open but it was so gross that I didn't want to open the bag to dump the egg out. I just put the bag and the rotten egg into the trash barrel and burned it.

We are onthe same day of incubation. So excited. I too think I have a smelly egg, but that egg is on day 18. I am going to put it in an unused incubator bc I am not sure it is rotted or just poop. I assume it will get worse smelling. That way it doesnt affect the others and I wont Ross a good egg.

Was so sure it was #1 stinking but mixed them up this morning and did a smell test, both my son and I couldn't pinpoint the stinker. So it could be more than one, so just gonna leave it for now. Opening the incubator more often an opened to get good air exchange. It been 49 days so something should happen, or not happen in the next week. Read a post about eggs that didn't wiggle till day 50. Still holding out hope.....

3 of mine have not wiggled at all but I heard a whistle today in the same STILL egg. Also, it must have an internal pip bc it's singing. I still turned all but the one egg.
