2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

Good Morning y'all! - Dang! We had some severe Thunderstorms yesterday and power and internet were gone for hours. Power's not the problem, but the internet was, so i missed all the action!
Sorry @Magnolia Ducks that you lost the little one, i really hope that's it with bad luck for you for the future, you've suffered enough with all those predator attacks! :hugs:hugs:hugs
Crossing fingers :fl for the ducklings to be healthy!

Wow, those sound like some BA ducks. I could see mine being afraid of a mouse or a frog! They do like to hang out with the wild birds though. It is interesting that even though they are afraid of almost everything, they know the birds are safe! Except for the Great Blue Herons and Osprey - They know to "duck" when those fly over!

@Magnolia Ducks sorry, I’ve been on vacation, just got home today. Glad you got the little one out and hope it’s doing well now.

Mineral oil would probably have been fine to use, I like to use Vaseline, or even a little antibiotic ointment will work if you have some. I remember someone using olive oil too, but I’ve never done it. :)

Not being a hatching eggspert at all, i think food grade mineral oil could be even better than coconut oil because not many bacteria can grow on that. (That's why oil-spills are so bad.) - I did not even know that something like »food-grade« mineral oil exists. What would happen if you ingest that?
