‎28....... If your pizza is 28 minutes late, you are on the phone demanding answers, if you are 28 pounds overweight, chances are you are considered obese, if someone overcharges you 28 bucks.....you are demanding a refund....so now that 28 kids, in December alone, have lost a parent because they happen to be an officer, and someone decided their journey should end....what are we going to do about that 28? Think about that the next time you bash an officer!

Amen, Kat.

I am so grateful for people like your husband who puts his life on the line every day and to you for living with that fear every day.
Bless you both and the rest of "The Thin Blue Line".

We just had another one shot and killed by a teenage boy here in florida. All of them seem to be so young to be taking a life. I hate reading or hearing about it.

Everyone stay safe over the holiday!

It ticks me off to hear the bashing of law enforcement officers, especially when the media jumps into it. Around here, anytime a civilian (ie criminal) is shot (and sometimes just hurt) during a police confrontation, the officers are automatically put on admin. leave while it's investigated. What a crock! It's almost like it's automatically assumed that it's the cop's fault.

It's very frustrating that people expect police officers to protect the general population, often putting themselves in danger while doing so, yet that same general population gets all up in arms whenever severe measures have to be taken to do that protecting.

Yup thats the one! We have a new story every week here. And the shooters keep getting younger and younger!

Just like you automatically assume that anyone shot by a cop is a criminal. Are you suggesting that cops should not be held to the same standard as civilians when it comes to shootings? If a man broke into my home and I shot him, there'd be a huge freaking investigation, and probably a trial. If I shot a would-be mugger, same thing. Police, like any other human being, can and will make mistakes, and like any other human being, some of them can and will do the wrong thing. So why should they not be held to the same standard?

Police are people, most of them are good people, and yet the rotten ones consistently get off easy, because for some bizarre reason people insist that cops are automatically better and are incapable of doing wrong.

Be encouraged. We just had a guy shot by an officer because he wouldn't drop his gun that turned out to be a BB gun, that looked like a more powerful weapon and it was dark. No sympathy from the public here. Of course we're sorry a 25 yr old died but he "owned it", as we say. 'Course the officer did fire 10 rounds and only hit the guy once. Me, thinks he needs target practice.

I wish you well,

We just lost a police deputy here in the SC lowcountry yesterday, shot by a teenager.
Gritsar, thanks to the heavens your DH wasn't on the list!
