Chick so cute! Has 6 whole tail feathers now and is a good preened and groomer! Seemed to grow into legs today. Noticing they grow like puppies do - in bits. Legs one day heads another etc- I haven’t gotten to the bad teenager stage yet

You do see teenie weenie wattles there, and of course spur bumps. All chickens have spur bumps, and sometimes hens will grow them as well.

I have to agree, that this is beginning to look like a little cockerel, with the size of the comb. We'll all have to keep watching!!! So cute!!!!!!!!!

That's a cockerel. 100%
Trust me, I've been accurately sexing chicks as young as day olds for 3 years. On here my track record is golden. I usually know long before others (though I rly shouldn't brag, )

I'm pretty certain he is a white Leghorn.

Well I have a welsomer bantam, an english game hen - do I need one more hen for him?
I dont want him going nuts on the 2. Lucky Clucky and Henny Penny might not like Chicken Little doing that. if he's gonna be a big boy he might have to be called mr. peepers. instead. or Peeping Tom... even though my husbands name is tom.

the coop itself is about 3' wide and 82" long, the current run is 2 feet wide, 15 feed deep and 6' high. I'm adding more run with a smaller coop tomorrow. Going around a big shipping container in the yard, so I can get a 2' x 5' piece back to the corner where I'm going to revamp a wooden crate and a wooden Dog house into a cop and can add 9 feet by 4 feet wide 6 feet high of additional run.

although I was kinda hoping for another breed. I had leghorn (said like leg urn by my dad) when I was young. They were livestock chickens, so I guess I can make up for the lack of free range time with this guy. I'll do research on intro's etc. I don't want little chicks though so I gotta gather eggs quickly :)

If I could do math better I could figure out the square footage per chicken. I'll have to have my nephew do that. I'm spot on when it comes to how much something costs on sale even with the bonus percent off but not so great at square footage. :)

Another question. If it is a Rooster does that mean I can't teach it barrel racing? It's gotta learn roping or bronc riding? Might end up doing agility like the dogs after all.

Barrel racing ? Bronc riding ?
That’s A first on the chicken agility.....
I agree with everyone above on it being a leghorn cockerel
It’s nice that you saved him.
Crazy how you found him at a Cemetery

My neighbor works there and they observed a family leaving after a visit to a grave then noticed feathers all over the place and when they went over to investigate they found a paper bag w holes in it left on the grave and could hear peeping- it was the chick so he brought it to me. The chick already knows how to follow tapping. The laser be is next- I’m a dog trainer and in 2000 I took bob Baileys chicken camp which traces you how to clicker train animals. We taught the chickens to do an agility course - the chickens had not learned clicker training before that. I’m after w a word than a clicker so the chicken gets a yes! And a worm or treat for doing a desired behavior
