This is thread will follow my progress on a big chicken run project. Please share your input. It is greatly appreciated. With the recent tropical activity my ground is soaked so I am sort of at a stand still on it but I have half of the post up and a few 2x4s. Here are some pictures so far. The huge pile of dirt is where I put my septic tank down. We were hoping to move it with the tractor but the ground is to boggy. I guess I will have to use a shovel. Yay!

Updated pictures. We still have to put some wire up and finish the doors. More pictures to come. The septic tank 25 feet away and the run is over my field line. Is this a problem? Please leave feedback!

About 25 ft away. Is this problematic?

Might want to talk to your septic company to see if they have a better recommendation but just from a google search I see recommendations that gardens be 10' (possibly 20') from the edge of a drainage field (obviously concern is leaching of contaminated water). So I'd use that as a baseline.

Also would be concerned that if any maintenance needs to be done, the run may need to be dismantled to allow for that, if too close to the drainage field.
