4-H-er thread!

I finally got a Rhode Island Red rooster my cousin gave it to me so now once it gets older I can get some more chicks

2 chicks hatched last night. I'm very impressed with the foot feathering on the 2 so far.
The 4 other eggs are pipped

If a chick comes from a feed store it will not be quality. There is no way a hatchery is willing to spend $75 plus per bird for breeding pens. Usually hatchery cochins have decent foot feathering and color but horrible cushions and they usually have blue feet and beak.

Hi my name is junior and I am going to raise a market lamb for the fair. Does anybody know what I should feed it

oh I know that. I am not planning on showing it unless for some reason it does turn out nice. I did get a pretty good quality one years ago from the same hatchery but i think that was probably a fluke

I don't know sheep... someone else here might though! Your leader or the breeder that you got the lamb from should be able to help you though!

If it has black/blue feet and beak by time 2 weeks it is not SQ that is one of the easiest things to see right away
