4 Week Old Silkie: Roo or Pullet?

Roo or Pullet?

I vote pullet. I have silkies that are three weeks old and I have no experience with this but if I compare your girl to my six she looks like the ones of mine I think are girls. Three of mine look really rooish with well developed legs and feet. They also are doing something that looks like silent crowing. Anyone notice that with their roo babies? Also, and I might ask this in a new thread, but one of mine has really weird feathers, like they are sticking out all over the place? The pic below of the dark babies I think are roos, and the grey one with wonky feathers I think is a girl and she looks a bit like yours. Sorry, my pics are awful.

I have a 5 week old silkie that appears to be losing feathers instead of growing them, any tips on why that would be happening? She was in a brooder with some other breeds but none picked on her (hopefully it’s a her, I’ve been saying that in hopes I don’t have a roo)
Have you ruled out mites or lice? Sorry if that sends chills up your spine like it does mine. If that's the case I'm told poultry dust will get rid of them.

Your wonky feathered one, looks like a frizzle!

Had to jump in because I just got my first silkie. He/ she is suppose to be 4 wks. She was a mess when i got her. Have had her 3 days. Haven't found mites or lice , but my sight isn't great..
I'm keeping her separate from all of myflock. I wiped her down with warm water and used coconut oil on her scaby looking skin. It is clearing up pretty quick now. I'm going to attach a pic of her when I got her and today's pic. 2 day difference.
I also have to say I'm a firm believer in dusting coops with First Saturday Lime once a month. Natural and safe for birds and animals and people. Definitely doesn't hurt if you compost. Natural insecticide and my coops have no bad odors.
