4 week old silkie with wry neck

How can I test or check for that. It's my first ever silkie
There is no way to test for chickens that I've ever heard.

You have to keep up that 400 i.u. Vit. E, and give scrambled eggs or a can of tuna with it so she gets a little extra selenium to help absorb it. If she'll eat some sunflower seeds, that's got high amts of both in them.

Remember, this can take weeks to get over.

If you have others, they should be getting vitamin water (Poultry Cell or something like that) at least weekly too just in case.

Everyday she has been getting vit e, egg yolk and vitamin mix water. And what ever she can handle in starter crumble. But not even a little improvement

That's perfect what you're doing. It just takes time and I know that's got to be frustrating and hard to watch.

Would it be worth while bracing her neck?
Probably not as you could wind up hurting her worse by trying to brace her neck. If she was just sitting in a box, you could support her neck with a towel or something.

Here's a little chick with a neck brace though made out of that foam stuff you put around water pipes to insulate.

I had her propped up in a towel but she keeps jumping backwards and ends up upside down with tail and feet in air. She is also very jolty with her head and neck. With her head and neck she rolls it around to the left. And I have to physically pick it up and straighten it and hold it. She won't stand on her feet they keep sliding to the right. She won't even stand by herself with head on ground

She is constant walking backwards

If it's been two or more weeks on vitamin E, at least 800mg each dose, and she's still flopping all over unable to control her movements, not being able to eat and drink, it's time to assume chronic brain injury and euthanize.

Yes, ending it is an option, and after no improvement, the best one for Silkie and human.

I think it's just been a little over a week, and not 800mg each dose, OP has 500mg and we said that was okay a couple times a day. So 1.5 of what the silkie is currently getting is closer to what you're suggesting. Hopefully upping it will make some improvement in the coming days. Then, if not, I sadly agree to end this.
