My son just handed me our little female button and she looks like she has some sort of prolapse

I have Cortnix and the poor things, keep getting thumped in the head, boy are they hardy, with holes in their skulls (I seperated them) I'm selling them pretty eggs, not my thing.
OH NO I'm scaring the guests away.

Thanks. I'm beginning to think I won't need it though

Everyone is talking about their chicks pipping already and their eggs rocking and rolling and mine are just laying there like slugs. We saw a bit of movement in 2 of them yesterday right after lockdown, but nothing has moved since and there are NO noises at all. I know there were chicks in them. I hope I didn't drown them by raising the humidity too high or something. I'm feeling sad

Waaay too early to start worrying. Day 21 isn't here yet for you right? This is the hardest part..waiting. But when you see that first pip, which may not be until Tues..if that's your due hatch date, it is sooo fun to watch and wait.

I cant stop looking! they are super cute, i want buttons!

My baby buttons from a couple of years ago. Then when they were almost grown.

Well, they aren't almost grown here, but...

here they are almost grown..Interesting birds. Tiny eggs!!
Scary to hatch.

This one is going to be interesting. Not sure they will be able to pip, in the same area. Would you consider pipping the egg if they aren't pipped by day 21? I think someone showed you the video where the gal helped, and, Sally has posted a great site of how slow you need to go with them. Good luck. it will be so neat if they both make it!
Do NOT freak out if they don't make it. Twins are iffy and if either make it it will be impressive. I'm too scared to put in double yolkers.

Do NOT worry if your eggs are not moving or peeping, its early days. Some chicks are eager, some are lazy. We have lots of time, it just feels dramatic.

Do NOT open the incubator unless you have to once those eggs are pipped! You can adjust your humidity until then, I used to think that's what the first day was for anyway :).

We had 2 cool down periods so I'm not expecting anything to hatch for a few days, I'm betting i get a lot of day 22 and 24. But I'm not holding out a lot of hope, I have had ZERO from the chicks I set 4 days earlier. Not thinking its a good sign for the eggs that had a lot more trauma. I haven't given up hope yet, but I need some help figuring out humidity in these huge bators. Ours has a water pan and when its in the 30's and 40's IE winter, it needs that to keep the temps up. So it was high humidity. You people that have those HUGE wood incubators how do you handle humidity? do you use the water pans? or just during lockdown? DO I have to move this thing to a place with more stable temperatures until march? The learning curve is steep on these poor little eggies.

Also going to have to switch to pencil to mark my eggs, for some reason all the pen marks have disappeared in this monster.
Patience, young padawans, patience! We shall feel the egg force yet!

I have a new record for getting my husband to roll his eyes at me! I've never gotten it as early as 10:30am, lol. He doesn't even need to see what I'm looking at to know I'm cooing over a baby bird, and thinking about adding to the flock.
