4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

I've got the picture of my pekin eggs, since they were set awhile ago, but should I send it in now or wait and submit it with the chicken eggs? Err, wait, the submit isn't even set up yet, is it? Past my bedtime. Goodnight all!
You post the egg pictures on this thread. All I ask is that you be honest if you don't post the picture until the chicken eggs are set. Some will be setting quail as well.

Hi guests, feel free to join this madness

I secretly dream of a big fancey cabnet bator but I cant I know my self to well me and my son would be liveing on mac and cheese while I bought and hatched 100s of eggs and livedn in a apt that woud be turned into a coop.

Its better if I set my sights lower , I shouldnt even have a 40 egg bator lol , Now if I could just find people to buy day old chicks consestantly Id be a happy camper and could have all the bators I wanted

I'm finally caught up! I got behind yesterday.

The crazies aren't laying again and haven't since the purple spotted eggs.

I have someone that wants hens in spring and the girls aren't making this easy.

This thread moves!!! Wow.

I'm so jealous of all of you with your eggs waiting to be set.. I'm still waiting for my NYD hatch eggs to arrive.. they were supposed to be here today, but that didn't happen so I'm still in if they arrive on monday, assuming they aren't scrambled...... The postal service drives me crazy somtimes.

I feel for you , this time of year is actually really a bad time to ship anything on a time frame but its not like we can get the eggs in nov and set them for nyd or anything so we dont have much choice.

Well i dont know if i have listed my breeds im setting.
Pekin eggs sat Dec 4 @12 noon.
My chicken eggs are a mix. I have Black Australorp,Buff Brahma,EE, and a GLW hens covered by a GLW or EE roo. :)

Ok sorry but i have another question. If we post pictures of the eggs we set, wouldnt that give away the egg count before the contest is closed? The contest doesnt end till the 31 right?(guess the egg count)

Here is my photo taken tonight - we set 12 Muscovy duck eggs on November 27 but had to cull 4 of them after candling.
Backstory: We had a very sad incubator episode, then an uncooperative (although previously or "pretendably" broody) surrogate hen while the incubator was evaluated and then they all went BACK in the incubator.... and we STILL have some little fighters in here. Really looking forward to NYD!
