We are off to a great start! Eggs are being arranged for hatching, Incubators are being pulled out of storage. Many BYC Hatch Addicts are scheming figuring out how to break it to their families that hatch season is starting!

Who could resist cute little fuzz buttes?


@chicken pickin will start sooner than the February date previously set for hatching egg!

@ronott1 (ok Me) is looking at Rhodebars!

@mstricer Shut off the incubators briefly and then hatched Cochins!

A bad experience with a used incubator is being worked on and the incubator will hopefully be up and running for the NYD Hatch a Long!

A Broody is hatching chicks in her house now! @scotter Joined the hatch too!

mstricer has offered some mystery eggs to msladyhawke. I wonder if there will be Egg Bombs on this hatch? The Turkey hatch a long had those...

@TMNfarm Wants Turkey Eggs for the NYD Hatch a Long. That would get you Turkey Dinner for The Fourth Of July? I could go for some smoked turkey and fireworks on the Fourth!

I am going to work on setting up a breeding pen this weekend--I have Crele Penedesenca X Cream Legbar Olive egg laying hens and I am going to breed them back to a Crele Penedesenca Rooster. It if all works, I will hatch them for NYD.

Ron your looking at rhodebars? I received some as extras with my basque and have never raised them.... They're desire able? I must say the basque eggs were much larger and PINK/blush/ plum !

I love NYD hatch makes winter go by quickly. I need egg laying vibes this way. My Silkied Feathered Ameraucana's need to start laying, at 8 months they are being greedy with the eggs

I am looking at them as a last resort. I might be hatching for tommysgirl(Bresse) and I am setting up a pen this weekend for my Amelias(Crele Pene x Cream Legbar) crossed back to a Crele Penedesenca. I have a long term goal of figuring out an OE layer that is auto sexing.

I suppose I need to start figuring out the next step in the process....
