9 Week Old EE Gender Guessing Super Fun Time!!

When you take more pictures of them, try to get a side view. It's easiest to tell on a side profile.

Big Bird and Hansel look like roos. The rest look like pullets.

With that coloring, C is a pullet. A lot of EE look to have pointy saddle feathers but it's the lacing that makes them look pointy. If you lift the individual feathers they will be rounded. I have 2 that match her coloring exactly. At 9 weeks it's still a little early with EE. All of them still look to have flesh colored combs. Of the silvers, the one that has the most black is a pullet. The other 2 could go either way.

chicken C and the silver in the last picture are roos, both have the saddles streaming a bit. The rest look to be pullets. Lucky you!

So the RIR x EE mix is definitely a rooster (second to last)? I have two that look exactly the same as that and they both have large combs already and their sibling with the same mix has almost no comb. Also- they both have what looks like wet shiny feathers on their back which I can only assume is their handsome rooster feathers coming in??

I am pretty bummed about that, we have no room for more roosters here and any roos are being sold or eaten and this guy is my special buddy, he follows us around everywhere. Bah! I was really hoping out of all of my babies, he was a she.
