A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I'm trying to imagine the chaos that would develop in the pasture if I were to put acorns out:barnie I've managed to remove the coon's approach path—but the squirrels can pretty much get anywhere... And they can't resist acorns... wonder how long one would last in among the turkeys and roosters? Or would everyone just leave the pasture:eek::confused: Nope, the birds aren't gonna get any more acorns than fall from their oak tree.

LOL.

But I am all for any extra food source for the winter. Remember - squirrels are also "protein". (gigglesnort!)

I have a 'nutwizard' for picking up walnuts.. it is my best friend.. they make different sizes
http://www.nutwizard.com/prod01.htm
if it matters this one is made in USA.. most of the other are not and do not come with an 'unloader' .. the unloader fits on a 5 gallon bucket and is very handy.. however it is just bent heavy wire and could easily be made

i am trying to do more research on them
it says that when he died his flocks were disbursed to his students and some others in the northeast. SUPPOSEDLY some people are still using descendants of his flock BUT they are far and few between

I would really doubt the descendants are pure. Every time a breed of poultry "vanishes" Some body "mysteriously" finds a few. Beings there is no pedigree on poultry, I really think they just make something close and say, "I found them!!!!"

The good thing is they can be recreated, as they were created once..
