A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Seriously....anybody else have a turkey that just enjoys flying around for the heck of it?
Right now everyone is kept in until afternoon to encourage the young chicken hens to use the nest boxes instead of hiding nests outside. When they are let out in the afternoon, almost all of the turkeys take a quick flight followed by a good run. You would think it is a prison break the way they act.

I've still got two toms who fly over the fence and then wander throughout the day. They act like they don't know how to get back in until dinner is offered then they have no problem flying over the fence to get dinner.

Hahaha yes! I have two hens that love to do this! And in the last three days a tom jas decided he wants be a flyer too! But he really doesnt know how fly back in.... but buddy he does know where the gate is. So he is waitin for me when i go up to feed dinner to everyone up the hill. Goober!

@memphis i need a daisy in my life! Lol! I love readin your tales of your two ladies. And would also love to see you playin with them. I bet that is a sight.

Love the happy flying turkey stories! I was starting to worry a bit about Daisy...wondering if she was a daft!

Kids have been asking me what they are dressing as for Halloween. We go through this every year! Keep trying to tell them they have to be in bed before dark. They think I'm mean not letting them stay up after their bed time. The kids are too cute! Aurora...we should have collaborated on a costume!

I think it would be funny to dress Daisy as a peahen. Annie is red....not sure what to dress her as. Maybe a little devil!! Maybe a ballarina with just a little tulle skirt. Someday I'm going to actually do this!! My neighbors would die seeing the girls dressed in costumes on our evening stroll.
