I also grew up in the era of the impending ice age destroying life on earth..BUT I was in grade school (that was back in the 50's when the pledge of allegiance was required every morning and prayer before noon lunch...I am almost as old as the dinosaurs...

LOL! Maybe I only started paying attention when I got to HS. Anyway, they were still harping on it. Back then, Florida got everything last, you know. It was not that long since the ascendency of air conditioning (which was when people started wanting to live in FL) so we were still a little behind times.

Took the girls for a stroll last night. Neighbor stopped to chat. Both girls hanging with us. Guy started to get a little freaked when he thought they were following our conversation. They do tend to stare at whomever is talking. I really blew his mind when I started talking directly to Daisy and she murmured back. LOL! He left when I asked her if she wanted a treat & she stepped toward me.

To be fair. Daisy knows her name....but "wanna a treat" doesn't register. However, both birds know I carry BOSS in a pocket. So as I ask them if they want a treat, I simultaneously put my hand in a pocket & they always move closer.
