Hi Phill98. Nice to see next generation breeders in Europe, not so far from me. I`d recommend you to use 10-12 hens to a tom, it`s working good for me. I have 80 hens wich i plan to reproduce this spring. A lot of work for me. Also i plan to buy some 1 day turkey poults, few hundreds at least and can`t find heritage seller in Romania

Hey, nice to meet you! I wasn't getting notification so I haven't seen it earlier. 12 hens per Tom?! How can he handle that much? And 80 hens? Are you selling them or what?
I used to be in chock when I heard people had 100 chickens and weren't selling eggs, but 80 turkeys is whole another story! I have never seen that many turkeys at once. I mean I did but they were poults, not adults.

The weather has not gone crazy because of climate change. It has always had extreme spikes one way or another.

It gets warmer, it gets colder, it is the natural way of things. Ask your neighborhood Dinosaur what she thinks of climate change? Personally, I am hoping to do away with climate change and try to increase global warming. I want to plant palm trees around the lake here.

I also like the idea of palms in my yard!

congrats! I sit at work with an ice pack on my back where I tweaked it yesterday doing chores..... wondering how many more babies are out. I had 2 out when I left for work this morn..... darn work!

The 4 penciled babies The 5th one is still in the incubator drying off but it hatched pure white so it's probably only going to be semi penciled. I didn't take pictures of the others that hatched. I ended up with9 babies hatched and 3 babies DIS.

Lol, thank you! There's absolutely nothing more adorable than a polka dotted penciled poult in my opinion!

I'm double checking on what Phil and Lil are on the turkey color genetics 101 Facebook page but if they are penciled fall fire, the variety that Lil and Mister can produce is staggering! Not quite as good as Ralph had with JJ and Ethel (is that right?) a while back but still quite a lot!
