    Holm...you crack me up!

    Ralphie. ..your restraint is impressive!

    Turkules is the man!

Chaos...i can run the calculator. Are you trying to figure out what you would get if breeding a Narragansett to other breeds?

Well, according to Porters the Narragansett was developed in the 1600's. Supposedly a cross of an Eastern Wild & some kind of domestic bird brought from England. Porter says genetically they are a bronze base with Narragansett genes. Bottom line....I'm not sure you can produce one by crossing.
I do know if you breed one to a Bourbon Red you will get Golden Narragansett and Red Bronze. Figured that out while searching for a versital tom for my girls.

I was going to let you all know my 2 delinquent turkeys that spend the night on the roof survived. The one was till on the roof this morning, the other was at the door to the coop wanting in to get his food.

Is it still called Alchemy even when dealing with live animals? I thought alchemy was dealing with potions........what if I paint some rocks gold colored, would that work?

I also doubt this. I imagine it is some mysterious chicken injury. Hopefully not a sign of illness.
My pessimist of a DH thinks we should cull everyone and start over in the spring. I very politely told him he was wrong and didn't know anything.

Holm! I believe you are too young to make comments like this!!! [IMG]
And Ralph, that was some serious restraint you displayed.

No gobbles... Or eggs from Banshee. Who the heck knows.
Quite a baffling turkey I have.
I had planned to be out encouraging gobbles or hen beeps, but the wind is insane.
40 mph constant winds with gusts up to 55. I think even higher, but that was what the weather said. I'm not going out.
    Maybe tomorrow.
The turkeys are even unhappy. They hunkered down in their coop! First time ever.

Ralph...glad the two tree sitters are okay.

Chaos....maybe R2Elk will have something to add to my comments. I'm no expert.

MM...the Banshee mystry continues! This is getting interesting. I'm still betting hen.

We had the same wind. Only good thing is it knocked down a ton of the pecans so now I have a chance of beating the squirrels to them! I'm just glad we kept power. Lots of huge old trees in my area.

I've been messing with the calculator. That thing is really confusing but at the same time really neat. I've just been ppuring Pebbles in as a bronze since that's what she looks like and red bronze would be the only outcome from her and Adam. Though, I doubt I have all the genes correct. Only solution is to test breed :)
