A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Ok, my totals:

45 chickens, at least 6 of which are roos, 24 of which are either babies or juvies
18 turkeys. 6 are boys but that will be cut down by winter to 4 boys.
4 ducks and a duckling
2 geese
And in the incubator I have 1 chicken egg due this week and two pea eggs due over the next 2 weeks

Inside, we have a spoiled rotten cat and a rabbit. I desperately miss having the dogs around. We'll probably never have 3 at the same time again but just having one...DH did mention that maybe after vacation next summer we can consider getting another dog. He's a cat person but he's starting to feel the emptiness around here.

If I hatched turkeys I'd need an intervention! Instead of the "Crazy Cay Lady"... I'd end up being the "Crazy Tutkey Lady". Can you just see me taking a flock on a nightly walk?

But if you did not have a convent... you could supply all the neighborhood kids with turks for pets!

100 ish laying hens
Now young ones dont count so those 50 chicks in the far grow out are off the list, oh and we are not counting the 20 in the close growout and the 33 that hatched this weekend definitely dont count.... oh and another 8 turkeys that are young , wait the batchelor pad has 7 roosters. Oops forgot the 4 in the tractor. Ummmm yeah I usually tell folks less than 200????

Coworker just showed me a you tube video of a chicken plucking out a tube on a little toy piano. She has chickens. Hmph...if a chicken can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star....Daisy should be able to play a Beethoven sonata!
