A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

At lock up I seen something outside the poultry yard trying to get in.
Ralphie's Tom must have sent a carrier pigeon to corrupt my jennie.
I was able to open the net fence and get her back in.
Twice in the last month, I have had one hen each out of the two - fly up into a 30-foot tree. They will not come down if called, offered food and just "hen cluck" me. Since I can't climb like a cat, I have to let them stay and hope for the best - knowing they might get eaten. So far, early the next morning - each of them has flown down into the run.

I will be SO Happy when I can finally get the top across it! :he

Last year I had 9 turkeys and it was like wack a mole keeping them out of the trees. I gave up this year with over 30. So far so good with predators. A half dozen go in the coop

Good morning everyone! What are we all up to today? I just finished up another pile of turkey Saddles. I did a count and I have 59 of them stockpiled and ready for next season :) Of course I'm out of denim and interfacing again so no more sewing for now. Laundry and the website are calling my name for the rest of the day.

Uhhh....does Poppys snood look kinda big for a hen? Sort of just started hanging over her beak a bit. Then she can retract it to a cone shape. Still has feathers up her neck. No gobbling. They are about 5 months old.

Congratulations, you no longer have a nunnery. You can have all kinds of babies next year.
