A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Swiped four Sweetgrass poults from the shared nest this morning. It went very easy. The Sweetgrass hen left the nest as soon as I reached under her. The wild hen left the nest as soon as I reached for the poults that were in front of her. No attacks, no biting and no flogging.

Of course the backs of my hands and my face are scratched up from chasing the Blue Slate hen through the brush. Once I finally got her in the run, she went straight to the older poults in the grow out pen. She is trying very hard to get them to accept her. They are terrified of the big monster, so much so that they came running to the other big monster for protection. She has been through this many times before. She will eventually win them over.

No, a brooding hen hatched them. There's only 3.

Poults got actual starter on Saturday afternoon, but by then they decided they preferred the slop and didn't want the crumble at first. They've since accepted it, but I think deep down they're still hoping for the egg mash lol.

How is the bumblefoot baby, @Bantambird ?
Very slowly getting better. Still eating.

Hey, do you guys think these 2 lighter ones circled in red are still red bronze most likely like the dark one in blue? Looking at my color combos on porter's the only baby I can find possible with the dark stripes like that is red bronze. Just expressing the base color differently I suppose?

Hi.
My turkeys seem to have a fixation with my ducks feet. Doesn't matter the color. The turkeys chase the ducks all over the place trying to get there feet. Is this somthing the turkeys will grow out off? My turkeys are still young. 2.5 months old.
Eventually as they mature your turkeys are very likely to start attacking your ducks.
