A normal Recessive Slate is bronze-based, they won't show pencilling, but you could make a BWB version that would show pencilling (b'b' slsl).

I am just going off of the information on Porter's Recessive Slate page.

"It seemed best to use sl for this slate gene. These types of slates carrying the bronze color base gene have barred flight feathers and penciled tail feathers."

That's really odd, because this poult is bronze-based and neither pencilled, nor tiger blues are bronze-based. Do you have any other turkeys, or can you show some pics of your turkeys?
The tom in my profile pic is a Pencilled Blue Fall Fire.

You are right about not being normal wild turkeys. Never seen anything like that before. Makes for good video, Interesting to watch a wild hen trying to push a domestic off a shared nest.

She wasn't trying to push the Sweetgrass off the nest, They get along great with each other.

Her first sounds are the danger call telling the poult to stay hidden. When she makes the come here sound, the poult runs right to her.

I don't brood them together, nope. Wet birds and dry birds do NOT brood well together.

They don't meet until everyone is outside in the big run and coop.

Yes noticed the poult obeying orders very well. But thought the wild looked like she was trying to push her way in but sweetgrass having nothing to do with moving off those eggs.

Who needs cable TV when we have natural things like that in nature to amuse us. Much better viewing and so much more educational.
