A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Oh Yeah I also got my chicken eggs from MPC today as well.
Eggs shipped out on Saturday the 26th, I received them on Monday the 28th. No damage to any of them. Won a dozen eggs and they sent 16 (14 Dominiques and 2 Black Copper Marans). They are currently resting and will go into the bator tomorrow.

There's so many posts.... I can't read them all! I don't think my turkey eggs are fertile, the chicken eggs are all fertile :lau Heres my new wild hen, any ideas if she's pure? She's a rio grande wild turkey I think.

Coffee this is for your newly hired unpaid hired man....

Coffee as Memphis said. to me Porter getting his picture on Porters Rare turkey site is a HUGE deal.. You will be pleased with him.
ohhh i think he is Beautiful...I hope i can make him happy on his new farm..he will be Top bird for sure...

Chaos-congrats on the new inmates and the eggs! It's too bad she only had one hen left but at least she still had that one ;) good luck on your incubator run. Before you know it, you'll be looking for a second one to support the addiction lol

Chaos...love the graffiti coop! The new turkeys are beautiful! So does that mean you have two tom's and one hen? I'm assuming you'll be adding another 12 hens. Enough for both boys!! Good luck with the eggs!

Ralph...is that a band of slate on Porters tail feathers? Beautiful!

That is a beautiful bird! Coffee your a lucky girl!

Ralph...is he a tolerate?

He is or almost is, He is not a belly button, BUT I do not spend a lot of time trying to socialize them, I might now that Ginger is no longer going to be socialized. Ginger is in his last week on the planet, unless someone buys him.

I am hoping to get some eggs from Porter even after Coffee owns him because of his size. He is one impressive heritage breed.

I believe that is, You can also see the bands of "sand" color in the tail too. along with the wing tips. I wish I had a better camera. my IPhone does not do him justice. He is by far the best Tom I have from last years hatch. He is not the belly button Ginger and Penguin are.. Ginger has the eye problem and is slight of build. Penguin is a good looking bird but he is black, AND a large oversized bellybutton!

Copper I suggest you post that picture on Porters FB page. Something looks off in the wings and tail. BUT I am not familiar with Rio Grande turkeys. If he was one of our wild turkeys I would think he had BB in him. Kevin and Dana from Genetics 101 can tell in a second, they have so much knowledge.

Oh and what is the deal with the blue head? A turkey hen with a blue head is so wrong!

Currently the extra boy is just for company for the hen and will be invited to dinner next year.......unless he turns out to be shockingly pretty.....than he might get a stay of execution with girlfriends included. Currently I would like to get one or two slightly older hens to add to T-Bones harem but gotta move these current two through the system first.
