I let Bert out today to Free range so I had to spend my time outside to protect Bert from the guineas and turkey toms. It was nice out mid-30s. I was out about 2 hours.
I held JJ for awhile. Petted him and ruined his dignity as a Tough Turkey Tom (TTT). The other turkeys were making fun of him. Told him no TTT would or should stand for being held.
When I put JJ down, Porter was right there. So I picked Porter up and held him... He was not crazy about being held. I had to watch his beak, he was in the near attack mode. Squirmed and fought the whole time. I think Mr Coffee should be the first one to hold Porter when he moves to his new home. He is definitely a BellyButton at this point in his life. However, I still think if he spends 4-6 weeks or so alone, he will be a lapper. This was the first time he has been held since he was 8 weeks old. SO it was to be expected.
I just thought Coffee would like him to start lapper training today.
