Ralph...we are on the same page. Ran the calculator using a few different breeds with JJ, Ethel, Ginger & EJ (Ethel Jr.) Some extremely interesting combinations to be had!! You could add a whole other colorway to the flock!

Got some poults out of 5 yo bourbon tom. But his spurs were to rough on the hens so he got retired.

I read best fertility was up to about 3 yo then it started to drop off.

Feedman. ...I had heard about 3-4 years before significant decline. Was curious. Are hens like chicken hens with diminished egg laying at a certain age? Where are you in Missouri? My family is in St. Louis & I own a house in Ste. Genevieve. Heck....I may be the one taking a detour this spring!

If only Ralphie would have let me know he was coming through Memphis. I would have gladly taken Ginger off his hands.
