I think I need to find a Bourbon Red, a NG and a Royal palm to add to my flock.
Yeah someone is probably gonna pick her up tomorrow, bourbon reds sell really quick around here. She is starting to be belly button-ish with my favorite ducks and chickens
Ralph...we are on the same page. Ran the calculator using a few different breeds with JJ, Ethel, Ginger & EJ (Ethel Jr.) Some extremely interesting combinations to be had!! You could add a whole other colorway to the flock!
NOTE: He still has his special running. Poults for $5.00 each, his choice. A surprise in every box! Sure is tempting! 15 bird minimum! What a good deal. Someone. ..please order this so I can live vicariously! !!! PLEEEEZE!
Question : How long is a tom fertile?
Probably could have hooked you up if you took a slight detour on your way thru Mo.
I'm going to have Adam babies (or I guess in this case, eggs) before long
Got some poults out of 5 yo bourbon tom. But his spurs were to rough on the hens so he got retired.
I read best fertility was up to about 3 yo then it started to drop off.
Feedman. ...I had heard about 3-4 years before significant decline. Was curious. Are hens like chicken hens with diminished egg laying at a certain age? Where are you in Missouri? My family is in St. Louis & I own a house in Ste. Genevieve. Heck....I may be the one taking a detour this spring!
If only Ralphie would have let me know he was coming through Memphis. I would have gladly taken Ginger off his hands.
Just a cute "happy face" Daisy picture. Couldn't resist!
