A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Turkey Hen Wrassling season is not over!

I went out and checked on the birds. The hen I gave the two chicks two was sitting on the south side of the turkey hut. She lives in the second apartment to the north. Last night I saw two stupid chickens laid eggs in the doorway to her apartment.

I being a good landlord, bent down and picked up the eggs. She came unglued!!!

She hissed, flew at me, hit my legs and beat the crap out of them. I was wearing cut offs and sandals, not the best turkey wrassling clothes. I tried to step back and Lizzie was behind me, I did not want to step on her. I tried to jump around Lizzie the whole time the turkey is chasing hissing, hitting me with her wings and biting at me. It was one of the worst turkey beatings of the year!

I am thinking the graft with those two chicks is pretty secure....

I feel sorry for the poor young rooster that tried to take refuge in her apartment yesterday now....

Can I please ask questions. We picked up a 5 day old turkey. She a mix breed.she was the only one born. We have had a few issues last couple of days. Trying to move cages and flock around adjusting lights. She screams at high pitches I have a large home. I can hear her through it on other end of house. She will not stop.enless we hold her. We also need to care for others. We had eggs that didn't hatch. We have taken her in and out of incubator. She had pulled the wire out of the computer fan. We had her in a small carrier yesterday. She got to hot. We bought her a fan. She still was to hot. We moved our male outside. But he getting picked on. All local breeder closed on chicken and other friends. How do I help them.

I am not sure I understand the question..

But it sounds like you have the typical spoiled turkey poult. They are not chickens. Turkey really attach to people. Yours sound firmly imprinted on people.

In this hot weather they do not need a lot of heat all the time. Mainly at night.

Give the turkey a chick for a friend, it should help. they do not like to be alone.

The chicken I have is 5 weeks old. There no chicks from the eggs yet. I still have a few more days. There's more coming in a week.
