A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Annie has taken a dislike to my turkey sitter. She displays and all her feathers stand on end. She acts like she wants to attack her. This has been going on for a few months. She doesnt react like that to anyone else. Anyone have any ideas why she would would of a sudden take a dislike to one specific person. This is someone she sees on a regular basis. Daisy loves her and will run over to greet her.

Her behavior does not necessarily mean that she dislikes your babysitter. It may simply mean she is jealous of Daisy getting all the attention or that she is challenging your babysitter for her spot in the pecking order.

I lean toward the jealousy part. Several hens here will display and carry on when the tom is breeding another hen instead of them.

Tis the season for lappers!! Love a hen hand warmer!
Bought small pumpkins to cut in half for treats. Daisy has an orange beak. Annie, not to her taste. The chickens could care less. However, those baby Speckled Sussex devour them. Little pigs!

Do you cook the punkins or leave them in the skin and raw? I see so many people whose birds love punkin.... ours... not so much. The chickens love when i put cooked winter squashes leftovers out. But neither the chickens or turkeys much like raw. :/. I havent taken leftovers to the girls and tried that. I am still tryin find a wintry treat they might like. I aint payin for watermelon, maters are done, my persimmons are pretty done now, they eat the acorns on their own so in my hand isnt so much of a treat.
