A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Temps here are single digits. And wind chill is around -10F. Do you all let your birds out when it’s that cold? We have about 2 inches of snow as well. My husband let ours out this afternoon and they all came out but I’m so worried about it being a bad idea.

Peafowl are a lot like turkeys, but not quite as naturally friendly, in my experience. It pays to get them young and raise them by hand.
Make sure any close neighbors are on board with the noise though. Turkey gobbles feel "natural", but peacock screams are in a whole different class.
I will probably have peachicks to sell this year, I have been hoarding the few I've hatched and now my second flock is about as large as I can deal with, so I prob will sell all the ones I hatch this year.

I was going to go with hatching eggs and hand raise them if all goes as planned. I'm hoping that doing that, plus raising them with turkeys will help. Did your "Sweet Pea" end up being sweet?

SNOW FOR SALE COME AND LOAD ALL YOU WANT...FREE!!!

I'll pass, thanks. It's still coming down steadily here. We're at 4" and counting. Hubby took my car to work today so I hiked the half mile up the hill to the buss stop again to meet the kids after school. No way I'm driving his car in this junk!

It's 8 here...8! I'm not even believing this. We got around 3" of snow yesterday. Schools are still closed. We got our first round of ice/sleet/snow last Friday. And here six days later it's still here. I've NEVER seen crunchy snow stick around this long. I'm freaked out!

Dearest Memphis:

You shall survive this, it too shall pass. You will learn to appreciate July so much more when you have a really January.

Annie might enjoy a romp in the snow. My birds do.
