A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Pirate passed away overnight :( I think it was just too late by the time I realized what the problem was. At least I've learned though if it ever happens again. RIP sweet Pirate.

Sorry about your loss. There are so many things that can go wrong it is very difficult to figure out the problem in time.

42 more eggs in my incubator. Per suggestion of someone here I’m giving a “dry run” a shot because it looked like many close to hatch possibly drowned. Ambient humidity right now without adding water is still 29%. I already have people interested in poults again... someone I spoke to earlier today said she wants any unspoken for ones I hatch out. So hopefully have lots and can consider my incubator paid off and save up for a nice cabinet one, haha.
That's really great! I hope you get lots of babies and lots of turkey customers!

I'm so sorry about Pirate. :hugs
I "liked" your post to show sympathy. Hope it doesn't look insensitive.

14 poults and 7 chicks! 100% hatch, if you don't count the blood ring and early quitter that never made it close to lockdown

I just traded 7 chickens for a quad of turkeys!

one Tom and three hens
The lady said that she bought the tom and the darker hen as a pair at a local swap and they called them royal palms..... I am not as knowledgeable as most of the folks on here but they look too dark to be palms... the two lighter hens she got from the heritage bin. I hoping someone can chime in with breeds??

So sorry Aurora. R2elk is right. It's tough to figure these things out.

Thank you

Thank you. That's very true. I just wish I would've figured it out sooner. She was such a sweet girl. I'm just hoping that she did last a few fertile eggs before she got sick. I don't know if she ever laid but there are a few smaller turkey eggs in my incubator.

Thank you. Totally understood.
