A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Man did a 14 mile ride in the Beartooth mountains today to escape the heat. The horses climbed 3000 feet up from the trailhead untill we reached 9200 feet above sea level. Once we reached the top, it was rolling Alpine Meadows just bursting with thousands of flowers and a lovely cool breeze, and views beyond the horizon. Then, we had to ride back down. My mom had me riding my dad's ( half) Tennessee walker gelding. He's a goer, in true walker fashion. I had to keep him in check on the slopes because he would have charged right around to the front if I had let him.
I haven't done much trail riding since I was a teenager and my folks used to do long horseback camping excursions into the mountains.

Wow! What fun! I’m so glad you were able to do that, Bantam! It would have put me in bed for the rest of the day I’m sure but it makes me feel good just thinking of you enjoying a such beautiful ride in the high places. :thumbsup

Bantambird...cool that you know the difference between browsers & grazers! I used to have Nubians. I love goats! Quite intelligent and at least the milk goats are sweeties! And quite the characters! Sort of like turkeys on the hoof!!
Wow...what a wonderful ride! A Tennessee Walker even! Now that a nice seat! Cindy...you don't get too buttsprung on a walking horse!

The heat & humidity will be creeping back in this weekend. It's been a wonderful break! Guess all good things must come to an end. Was emailing some of my family in Germany. Boy they are having a terribly hot summer. Record breaking. Most don't have air conditioning in their homes or those expensive cars!
