A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Last night before I closed the coops, I grabbed the last of my old style turkey Saddles (without interfacing) and a few old ones that I washed up and headed out to the coop. Princess and Sweet Pea have clean saddles on again and 4 of the young penciled ladies have received their first saddles! I have to pick one more out of my stockpile for the last girl. I was one short lol.

At what age do you put saddles on them, and does it take long for them to get used to them? :)

I can't believe some of y'all are still hatching! That means, of course, I'll be waiting for baby pics! I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for Ms. Coffee babies. Hoping the old girls eggs hatch!!
I certainly hope so, Memphis - I candled last night - and I see veins. Means there is hope! I'm just astonished that she had quit for so long and then did a "reboot". I told the kids it must be her way of giving a "last hurrah". The most I can do is attempt it and see what happens. She's a super sweet hen that has never gone broody; but with that said, I'd love to have a couple from her.

I bought an turkey poult about 3 to 5 months ago because my Tom only has 1 hen and I thought he needed at least 1 more.
I've been positive that the new turkey is a female, well, that is until I was showing my brother and his wife and the new turkey spread it's tail feathers just like the tom does.
All the rest of the time it carries it's tail feathers just like the other female does.
I guess more time will eventually resolve this question for me.
