I may have lied when I said I was going to sell all my turkeys.

This poult appears to be a chocolate? If so, she’s not a very dark chocolate, so I’m thinking chocolate blue or chocolate lavender. My new plan is to hold back her and two friends and sell them last, if at all. That may well change. I like the idea of keeping a chocolate turkey, but if it’s combined with lavender, that might not look so good. So as it grows out, I might decide to sell it after all.

I have one last hatch due June 28. Maybe I will get more chocolate in that one. :fl

I had 6 broody hens in a group nest. Tried breaking them 2 weeks ago by removing remaining eggs. They still would not leave large nest box, no matter how many times I kicked them out so last week I filled nest box with 2 bails of straw. So, this week they just moved out into the tall grass and all 6 still all together in one mass. Most just finally starting to move about more but one just won't give up at all and keeps drawing others back and they won't go up to roost yet. Probably going to have to remove that stubborn broody and break her by herself so others will fully break and return to roosting. Didn't have much trouble with other Broodys breaking just this group of 6 Sweetgrass. Now just watching for any to try to start laying again, hoping they won't (ALL DONE HATCHING).

I have found a couple turkey eggs, so someone has started up again
Ya just today I found 2 eggs in one of the pens I have been using for hens after breaking them. They were not there yesterday so I would say 2 have started up again. I have 5 hens separated that I never let breed or sit eggs so they usually will lay until late fall, those eggs are collected each day for eating.

Had someone come yesterday and picked up all + poults I had left I wanted to get rid of. Only really wanted to give up 20 to 25  but they talked me into 30. They ended up with a nice group of mixed variety birds that they should be able to make a very colorful mixed flock after thinning out excess jakes this fall. They also took one of my older adult bronze toms for some bronze hens they have and lost their tom. Last week had a couple come and picked up 3 adult hens that I was pulling from my breeding stock that were heading for freezer camp, so that paid off greatly. So things finally finishing up for this spring, now grow out time until fall harvest. Supposed to have a hot spell for next week or so here so cleaned and filled waterers with Vitamin + Electrolytes to help with stress and give all those hens that have been sitting a boost.
