Hey everyone. I've been sharing things with you guys for years but I forgot to share these a couple weeks ago. The school's rock band had their concert. DS is keyboard on most and drums for "Enter Sandman".

They also had their spring concert. DS was vocals and clarinet. DD was vocals and flute

And before the concert, DS and his best friend decided to do some halfway music to entertain people waiting to go in.

And the reason I realized all of this suddenly is DS graduated last night!

It hasn't hit yet but when it does, it's going to be so hard. DD is stepping in to his footsteps as she will now be in the school rock band (vocals), she is now on the bagpipe line in marching band like he was, and has started playing another instrument (basoon). So all the music stuff isn't going to stop yet but in 2 years it'll all come to a grinding halt... and I won't know what to do with myself then.

Oh wow! I can’t believe how quickly other peoples children grow up! This thread has been going for 8 years. I guess that’s not all that quick, but it seems like they were just littles.

My husband and I are about to become empty nesters. Our youngest (of 5) graduated from college in December, and he just received a job offer in a city that’s 2 hours away. He expects to be gone within a couple of weeks. This will be the first time since 1986 that I have not had an offspring in the house. We are looking forward to it, but I imagine I will still cry.

Oh, and I think it’s great that your daughter is playing bassoon. If she is good, she can probably get a great scholarship. Colleges need bassoon players. My husband was always trying to convince our kids that they should play bassoon.

Rex is being a really good 'dad' to the poults. I let the poults and Petrie out of their little isolation pen now that the poults are a week and a half old.

Rex is following them around everywhere to protect them, and lays down with Petrie and lets the poults go under him.

Also- look! Recently did a trade for a 3 month old chocolate “hen”. I‘d sold this bird to somebody else as a poult, and I wasn’t able to keep back any chocolate poults successfully once my own hens stopped laying, so I was lucky enough to be able to trade (more) black poults to the person so I could get this bird back. I have 3-4 hens who are still laying- 3 being black spanish, so I stuck them in with my chocolate tom to hopefully hatch a few more chocolate poults..
