Is there an official name for this colour? Jeremy is 4-5 months old and is still getting his gold laces, but I cannot find any pictures of chickens with both gold lacing and white on their heads. He had a light orange head, black body and white underside as a chick.

The coloring does not have an official name. You could call it incomplete or partial gold lacing. The white feathers may molt out as he grows.
I hope he keeps the white head feathers as I like them. 😆 Though if he does lose them, he’ll still be my whiny gold boy with an oversized comb and wonky wattle.

I’m not exactly sure how the dusky gene works but I wonder if it’s responsible for the strange stippling on his wings and tail. Or that might be the gold lacing struggling to be expressed.

Yeah it’s very weird.
The white feathering? Could be caused by a dietary change when he was growing those feathers in. Other than that, I couldn’t tell you.

I fed them the same feed the previous owner did, though a different brand so that could have something to do with it? I’ll have to see if it sticks around or not.

I also have this hen, Betty, who is some form of white with what looks like dun leakage?
