Wait till it starts struggling..Don't do anything till it really lets you know it wants out. Then remove that bottom shell still holding it in the egg. If it still has yolk to absorb put it in a Kleenex lined margarine container in the incubator and don't give it anything by mouth till it's up on its feet..That could take another 24 hours.

We both are hatching a single Duckling today. My baby is almost out and I'm assisting too. I'm getting a little chick to be its buddy so it won't grow up alone..

Ok, we are settled in. Its under my desk. (Gosh I never thought I would be that person who brought an animal to work, hehe). I feel like she pushed her back out quite a bit.

Do you have a heat lamp or away to keep it warm till home? A mirror and teddy once hatched will be helpful..

I took 2 baby pigeons to work, the parents stopped feeding and they needed fed every few hours. I've also taken chicks for customers to pick up at my office.
