So sorry just found this forum, I originally posted this under emergencies.

My old hen passed away just the other night, my drake is a mess without her. I've contacted my local farmer, who I've gotten Guinea fowl from in the past. They told me the have 3 females I can choose from. My ducks are our pets so at the most I can handle would be 2 females. The woman told me one has a "crooked neck". She's older and lays eggs well, ets and has no issues, just a bend in her neck. I have dealt with them in the past and have never had any issues, I've just never seen or heard of this before.

Would it be safe to bring these girls in my pens? Sadly, I'm torn with time because not only did we lose our old girl, but our drake just keeps calling and looking for her and makes it even more heartbreaking. If I can just get your guys opinions I would be grateful. Thank you

She's the one on the left in the pic, once again I've just never heard of this before and want to get all the info I can before caring for any animal. Thank You All So Much!

That's wry neck, but not the vitamin deficiency wry neck. It's similar to wry tail and scoliosis. She will fine, but you never want to breed her because it is hereditary.

Yea, I don't want to breed them at all, but my drake does get frisky and I don't want him to injure her.
I have one of those 250 gal hard shell ponds from Lowes for them dug into the ground, I wounder if she'd have issues getting in and out even with the block steps I put in.

Well, I guess worst case I can modify the pond again lol

Thinking on it these ducks are with a male now, so surely he's being frisky with them.

The most important thing is it's not a disease so I thank you so very very much. I'll show the pics to my daughter tomorrow, she has final call on who we bring home.

Thank you so much
