I count day 1 after a full 24 hours has went by.

Most people go into lockdown on day 18. Sometimes sooner.

I believe it's day 18 for chickens (but 19 wouldn't be far off, if that's where you're at).

Found out it can take up to 35 days for goslings to pip (and then up to 3 days to actually hatch). Today is day 30.....hopefully they don't decide to wait until the last possible day to hatch lol.
