That is precious!! I find my geese are tidy compared to my Runner ducks who are basically slobs. Even my Muscovy have manners compared to my Runners who not only move fast but eat like there’s no tomorrow. Good thing I love those things! If you search you’ll see some different ways to water geese so they don’t make too much of a mess. Here’s one I made for my new ducklings

@Miss Lydia Oh, I love that! I set something very similar up last night - a hole in a plastic container that one contained soup - and they make virtually no water mess. Just the usual poop-and-food-everywhere mess!

The crying is still touch-and-go - I'm a bit concerned about it, because I have an all-day appointment next Wednesday I can't miss. I'm hoping once I get them some good enrichment up & some toys, they'll be a little more occupied. I'm going to try and add grit to their diet today and see about some treats they might like.

Chick grit and just a small bowl close by their feed not in it. Good for you these make at home waterer are sure nice to have. Did you try a mirror? Hopefully by the time of your appointment next week they will be more settled.

I got my gosling yesterday. I just walk away, and they quiet down. You don't want to have them over bond on you anyways. They will quiet down.

Did you post pics yet @oldhenlikesdogs ?

The gander was DOA unfortunately. So three females. They are doing well despite me being a novice with them. They like to talk to me and waggle their tails. I've never seen such big babies. :)
