Hi, I wrote a post a while back about my rescue squab. He's now still making peeping noises but looks like a full grown pigeon almost. At the moment he lives in the house and sits in the open windows watching and listening, sometimes he flies out but we have to watch him as there are so many cats about. We have chickens and he loves to watch them.
The point is we are planning on getting him/her a mate and building a loft but have no idea about keeping pigeons. Can anyone advise any good learning resources?
How many birds would you need for a flock that won't just fly off and join up with a bigger flock?

I would like to suggest you visit these 3 threads and read thru them. Just scan thru and read what applies to your knowledge needs.
Each link is to first post in each thread. I subscribe to all 3 of these.

And this one was started by someone a stones throw from you.

Once you get some background info, post more specific questions on any of these threads. I, and many others that hang out on these threads can answer most of your questions.
