Advice please, How to deal with the neighbor and their dogs Update pg5

I'm here too tell you this type of thing will worry you to death! Plus you will get "NO RESULTS".

The best thing to do is "KILL THE darn THING", and tell no one. I quit this being patient long time ago. I lost 8 total this year.

Caught one dog in the act. However he was too far away for a good pistol shot. Now I have my 22 rifle loaded with CCI Stingers. (long range hollow points)

I'm agreeing with those who are mentioning that if she's supposed to be a registered kennel but is on unemployment there is something wrong with this picture. It could be that she's collecting the unemployment and also getting paid "under the table" cash payments for kennel services. That's illegal.
And, if she is a registered kennel, why are the dogs in her care running loose? Again, something wrong with this picture, maybe you could look up her kennel and check into whose dogs are in her care and find the owners of them. It might be that her licensing is not up to date, or some other factor is at play here.
And, do not accept a single dollar, chicken, cage or anything from her without some sort of legal action. Accepting anything infers that you agree with this as 'payment' for your losses. Keep it with in the law, take her to court and do everything by the book. It's a long drawn out process, a pain in the butt, and the only way to do it right.

Thanks for all the advice. If my husband sees the dogs back he will shoot them. I am going to take her to court and seek damages. I found out that it is her mother that owns the kennel and she is there helping out the aussies are hers not her moms dogs. I do not know if they are registared or not and really don't care. I have not seen the dogs since it snowed 3 days ago but there are paw prints in the snow in the pasture and my 2 almost 3 yr old filly has blood on her back left leg. I had the vet out and he could not tell if it was from dogs or something else. I walked our pasture (all 30 acres) and found nothing that she could have hurt it on except maybe a small tree that went down in the back. The vet said it is a superfical wound and should heal fine to just keep it clean.
Thankyou again Everyone for your advice.
Steph

EDA: The brittany was shot yesterday. He came back and was trying to get in to the rabbits again. I still do not know who owns him.

Was the Britney hit with a kill shot? If so did you bury? (which might be hard if the ground is frozen I guess)

I hope you don't get any trouble for this. I think you did the right thing.

Our kids bus driver came to our house the other day with a big, beautiful black lab. She thought it was ours. (we have a black begal mix) She found it trying to play with her pheasant and peahens. She was worried that if it was one of ours it'd end up getting shot. One of our neighbors owns show sheep and practices SSS religiously. If it's on his property, it's gone.

Thankfully it wasn't one of ours. We called ACO and they knew exactly who the dog belonged to. Seems she's an escape artist. Sweet as can be BUT very strong and not well trained at all. Nearly knocked me down with wanting to play and I am not a small woman!

Hope the dog issue is taken care of quickly and you don't suffer any more losses.

Another thought I just had, these dogs might just be dumps. With the economy lots of people are getting rid of their pets. There are so many people who feel it's better to dump their dogs in the middle of the country rather than take them to the pound. (idiots!)

Well, isn't it too bad she's unemployed. I would still require monetary compensation for your loss and hold the threat of having the dogs euthenized over her head if she gets ugly or doesn't want to hand over the money. Then if there is no money, I'd go through with it.

We had a problem like that with 2 neighbor dogs In our area we are allowed to shoot dogs. Dogs that get the taste of blood need to be destroyed. For some reason owners in rural areas think they don't need to control their dogs.

I like dogs so instead of killing the offending dogs I bought a high powered pellet rifle. It has a muzzle velocity of 900 feet per second and is pretty accurate. I shot them both in the butt and they didn't come around anymore. Those dogs didn't actually get to attack our chickens. They were just digging at the fence and barking at them. If they had gotten to the chickens they would have to be killed. Otherwise they will keep doing it. Check with the sheriff first.

'm surprised your horses let the dogs get to them. My dog went after our draft and she kicked him a good 20 ft.
