Actually, if you are patient you may prevail. She is unemployed now, but if she gets a job in the future her wages can be garnished. If she has a car, you can put a lien on it. Heck, if she is a registered kennel, you can put a lien on the dogs and kennel equipment. Notify the AKC of the lien and possibly stop the registration of puppies she is selling. If she owns the house, put a lien on it. Bank accounts can also be seized. If she has homeowners or renters insurance, you might not need small claims. Send the bill to them. A judge can order her to give you the insurance info.
Years ago somebody owed me money for caring for their horse. I don't board horses anymore, but I used to. She took the horse off my property before paying . I took her to small claims court. I won. She didn't have a job or own a house or a car. I went to the court house and registered what is called an agistor's lien on the horse. I sent a copy to the breed registry. Two years later she wanted to sell her horse but couldn't transfer the papers because of the lien. I refused to release it, and she paid me. Patience prevailed. Sooner or later everybody owns something that can be used for leverage.
